Timur Tillyaev, Husband of Philanthropist Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva
Timur Tillyaev is a business professional affiliated with a market-leading trade and transportation company. Outside of his professional life, Timur Tillyaev is a husband and a father of three children.
His wife is Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva, who belongs to a prominent Uzbek family and is known for her dedication to philanthropic work. Mr. Tillyaev married Mrs. Karimova-Tillyaeva in the mid-2000s, after he attended high school in the United States and graduated from Midland University in Nebraska. Since then, he has focused on his work as a shareholder of an international transportation company, while Mrs. Karimova-Tillyaeva has worked to champion charitable causes related to child welfare, peace, and cultural tolerance.
Her work as a philanthropist began when she established her first nonprofit—an organization that provides support to orphanages called the You Are Not Alone Foundation. Afterward, she established the National Centre for the Social Adaptation of Children, a group that helps children with special needs gain access to the medical treatment, therapy, and education they need to lead happier, healthier lives. Mrs. Karimova-Tillyaeva’s work on this project has helped more than 7,500 children, all of whom are able to benefit from the programs at the National Centre for the Social Adaptation of Children free of charge.
Timur Tillyaev also supports his wife’s involvement with the Karimov Foundation, where she serves as chair of the organization’s board of trustees. Through the foundation, Mrs. Karimova-Tillyaeva works to benefit the population of Uzbekistan through the provision of scholarships and research grants, support for Uzbek writers and artists, and support for initiatives that aim to preserve and enhance Uzbek culture and traditions in all forms.
In addition to their separate careers, the media has reported that Mr. Tillyaev and Mrs. Karimova-Tillyaeva own several boutique shops in Switzerland. The couple and their children currently reside in Geneva.
